Get involved! Meeting with people from the four towns to, together, improve the Caldes Stream
Saturday 16 December, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
In the auditorium of the Besòs-Tordera Consortium, Av. Sant Julià, 241, Granollers.
Organised by: The Research Group in the Regeneration of Intermediate Landscapes (UIC Barcelona) and the University of Girona’s Institute of the Environment, as part of the Viu la riera! participatory process.
Get involved! pursues two main objectives:
- To illustrate the practical use of the Mulla’t GeoAgenda from the Viu la riera! SIGPP online platform, designed to record activities and actions relating to the Caldes Stream.
- Ensure the continuity of the Viu la riera! project with support from the residents and town councils of La Llagosta, Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, Palau-solità i Plegamans and Caldes de Montbui.
With that purpose in mind, the meeting will be divided into two parts. In the first, efforts will be made to raise the level of citizen commitment to the project by presenting the Mulla’t GeoAgenda and entering stream-related activities and actions, in efforts to illustrate the usefulness of the web-based tool.
The second part of the event will pursue increased political commitment to the project through debate on the Caldes Stream Citizens’ Observatory, a tool shared by citizens and public authorities to keep open the channels for online (Viu la riera! SIGPP web-based tool) and on-site (workshops) public participation.
At the end of the event, the four municipalities will manifest their support for the project through the symbolic and joint signing of the Pact to Improve the Caldes Stream, an accord previously approved by each town, which will be formally issued to the representatives of all attending supramunicipal authorities (Besòs-Tordera Consortium, Provincial Council of Barcelona, Catalan Water Agency, Association of Caldes Stream Municipalities).
